Local library, local thrift store, 2nd hand websites... If it was ever published on VHS, DVD, ... chances are it's out there somewhere

Operation sandman - cannot find anywhere for the last few years, Usenet, torrents, vhs/dvd, anything

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Somebody put it on Dailymotion.

But it needs fixing. It's split in 2 almost 1 hour parts, the part 2 ends around minute 38, then loops around back to start after credits. The image is mirrored (flipped), but the 2 parts seem continuous (nothing missing).

But I haven't watched all of it.

I don't think I can directly link pirated stuff here, so the titles are "Operation Sandman 2000 TVRip avi Pt 01" and "Operation Sandman 2000 TVRip avi Pt 02" uploaded in 2018.

Wow, you are my absolute hero. Thank you so much for this, and for the perfect explanation. I can’t believe I didn’t find this earlier and I’ve been trying for more than a decade! Some safe copies live with me now. I really can’t thank you enough!

There are at least three VHS copies on ebay right now that I found pretty easily. Radarr found it on rutracker for me as well (though it looks like it might be dubbed).

edit: yeah it's dubbed

I had tried an eBay seller a couple years back and they actually ended up refunding me after a month saying their listing was old and they didn’t have it anymore, after that I didn’t bother with eBay but thank you for pointing this out. I’d try again but another great human being has found a vhs rip on daily motion in another comment…

Search soulseek with a “ .mkv” at the end (note the space)

In case you only want to search partial titles to find multiple movies

Ex: Spider-Man .mkv

   Ernest .mkv

Or because show titles will usually have episode titles after them

… I guess it’s not a requirement

So that the name doesn't have to squeeze itself too much, give it some space, duh. /j

For me it was Not4Sale - TV Sheriff and the Trailbuddies. I actually bought the DVD from OtherCinema, maybe the only movie I’ve ever bought. I don’t think you can even buy it anymore.

And you ripped and shared it, right?

[–] ElJefe@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

Always a terrible feeling
