J.K. Rowling. The author of the Harry Potter franchise. People despise her views on trans people/human rights, she's been horrible. That said she was a single mother living off welfare before the series took off, so it could just be a photo taken before she got out of the lower class.

Ah yeah, ok, I do know her. I just don't know what most ppl look like. Yeah, that would be a very weird pic of her today, considering how well off she is.

She was always well off and very connected.

Not many authors can force that kind of book deal, giving that sort of percentage, on their very first book. That took serious pull.

Additionally, some people, including me, suspect her books co-authored. And there are excellent reasons why the other authors are not publicly known. But that is only a theory
