Really stupid question that I always think about when footage like this shows up - where do the bullets/shells go that miss? Obviously they come back down, but this looks somewhat populated. I would assume friendly fire or collateral damage is a real thing, but I never hear about it.

Not a dumb question at all. When AA guns miss, the bullets eventually fall back down, often tumbling, which slows them down but doesn’t make them harmless. Even tumbling rounds can injure or kill. Collateral damage does happen but often goes unreported due to censorship or lack of clear attribution.

There's a lot of stories of bullets coming down (of course they do that, it's basic physics) and hitting stuff and people.
