Let's say I launch a streaming service in Europe and it attracts consumers. This brings investors that help scale up my company. Among these investors, one ends up being a scumbag 10 years later. Should people boycott my company for that reason? With this reasoning, I don't see any service that shouldn't be boycotted. Target, Meta, Amazon, Delta, Pfizer, Visa all donated money for Trump's inauguration, among dozens other big US companies. Plus, Deezer is now public. Finally, as a European compamy, it has to respect consumers privacy. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] Prove_your_argument@piefed.social 12 points 1 year ago (1 child) I don't think any of the companies you've mentioned are ethical investments. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] HenriVolney@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 year ago Sure, si why target Deezer which is by several metrics way more ethical? I am still on Apple Music despite my issues with the UI because they actually pay a good amount for streams. I got more from a handful of streams in TikTok than from thousands of streams on Spotify. The truth is that unless your big, your basically putting music on Spotify for free. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] bloubz@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago Qobuz pays more, and is currently I think the best corporate choice permalink fedilink source parent [–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 3 points 1 year ago (1 child) I just canceled my subscription because the app and website sucks so much. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] HenriVolney@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago OK, fair enough permalink fedilink source parent
