Strategy games have a ton of communities, one which has been poked recently into living (!strategy@lemmy.world) and many which are dead.

Maybe, but it's still worth keeping both RTS and Turn based strategy on hold for when/if the community grows. I'd argue the optimum scenario is to double-post all strategy-game related posts to a "strategy" parent community, and then post as relevant to RBS/TBS

Would you be willing to do so? The idea about having a general community is to make it easier for potential posters to contribute. As of now, nobody is posting to any of those communities, real time or turn based
