Now that Patch 8 is out and they're done making major changes, I can try and help fulfill my partner's mod request for a specific combination of traits for their Tav, a half-orc with a dad bod and top surgery scars. I've found some modder's resources for top scars split into RGBA channels, but it looks like the only half-orc race mod that fits the bill is one called "strongfat half-orcs and humans" which was last updated for patch 5. I think the 3D model for that doesn't need any modification, and it already has the file structure I need. Would just need to combine it with a unique Tav one that keeps it separate from the NPCs. Sadly, that one just has .dds files for the relevant textures that already have all the channels baked in to the file and they can't be separated.

I did some minor Oblivion and Skyrim modding back in the day but I don't know if there's a way to reverse-engineer the alpha channels from the dds files and drag and drop the various channels to the appropriate place so I can tweak them until they look not horrible in-game. The file structure stuff I'd be fine with, and I assume that just opening the mod in question in the modding software and exporting it to the latest version could make it work, but again I'm kind of in the dark because I've never done much with the Divinity engine but it can't be more of a clusterfuck than Creation was (the Marge Simpson chanel suit of RPG engines).

Any pointers, tutorials, videos, offers to do all the work for me so my partner can be happy with her character and I can take all the credit, etc. would be appreciated.
