As for queer rights, they are improving over time, and the CPC does not actively oppose them, the most anti-LGBTQIA+ measures are taken by regional governments, not the central government. It's still not great, of course, and rural areas tend to be more socially conservative, but the positive forward movement does exist and is gradually improving over time.
