The Iranian government killed 7,000 protesters. I think the Iranian people are by and large good people, but neither of our governments are any good. Iran's government just looks less crazy than the US government right now.

Iran's government is objectively less crazy than the US government. In perfect game theory style, Iran had set up the Hormuz threat as MAD (mutually assured destruction), with a completely rational and realistic threat. To deter the US from attacking.

The crazy government here is the US administration, who seemingly was too stupid to understand the extremely simple game theory behind MAD. Trump is not a "rational actor" in the game theory sense.

Which changes them from being the victim in this war how? Or during the war last year? Or the protesters who got driven to the streets after the explicit and intentional work of Scott Bessent? Or the tens/hundreds of thosands who've died due to lack of medicine created by US decades-long sanctions? Do you not see that the Iranian gov't atrocities do not make them and Iranian people any less of a victim of US violence of different kinds?
