For clarification, the channel above has a video where a pretty racist depiction of Ukrainians is shown (at around 1:05), so I would steer clear of that channel: ("Why supporting Ukraine is a bad idea") https://youtu.be/xCa_8aBEs0M

I disagree vehemently with your suggestion to steer clear of the channel. The channel is run by a native Ukrainian, born and raised in Mariupol. Throughout their videos i have never seen them express actual bigotry towards Ukrainians, but rather criticism of the current Ukrainian government and its Banderite nationalist ideology. I agree that the image chosen for the meme in that frame of the video is racist, and i wish they hadn't chosen to display that particular meme to make their point. However if you read the text in that meme, the point it makes is actually to criticize the racist nature of Ukrainian nationalist historical revisionism which considers Russians to be racially inferior and "not real slavs" due to alleged "Mongol admixture". Leaving aside that one frame (which you are right to criticize and i fully agree that it is unacceptable imagery), i agree with the points he makes in the video. Do you disagree that video? Further, i think the channel is an overall very valuable source of information and insight into the views of at least a part of the people living in the Donbass, as well as first hand images/videos of Mariupol and its reconstruction.

To be honest, I kind of forget what the video was really about, but I definitely should have read the meme before judging it like I did (though of course, I disagree with the imagery used). Recommending others to steer clear of the channel because of that racist depiction was an instinctive reaction from me (I personally do not feel comfortable with the channel because of that, but others might be able to look past that).

I understand your reaction. As i said, i deeply dislike that they used that image. But it is one brief moment in an otherwise good video. I think that you should give the channel another chance and hear out a few more of their videos so that you can form a more complete opinion. If you still feel iffy about them then it's absolutely your prerogative to say that you are uncomfortable with them as a source. But i think that they at least deserve a fair chance.

Got it. I think my reaction just comes from me seeing a weird amount of racist stuff (I swear I was not trying to look for them) in pieces of media that I randomly come across (and I am just a sensitive person in general to many things people find normal).
