That's what the joke is about. That the boyfriend (an "empath") is projecting his feelings onto his girlfriend.
It's a totally valid strategy. It's just very uncommon that women want that
I read it totally differently. I read it that the girl wanted attention by crying, the guy was dismissive and as such the guy was wrong. I wasn't seeing it as projection but as mocking a person with a difference in how to be treated when upset and he assumed everyone was the same
Well I think the actual point is right there. There isn't really enough context provided to know what to do.
Personally I can't relate, my partner is quite capable of getting annoyed or angry at things but she generally doesn't get angry at me unless I am the one that has actually done something. Usually it's work thing so she's just vents at me about it.
I'm a woman and playing video games is totally my way of blocking out my anxiety and depression. I've exhausted Cities: Skylines and Tropico 3 and 4, I'm almost done with CorsixTH, and I might have to go back to ETS2 or BG2 Throne of Bhaal. Witcher 3 is also waiting for attention and sorry, no one actually asked, did they? 😅
I can't imagine playing Witcher would help. I just end up getting even more frustrated every time I died
