If Count Binface wins, he'll never be able to show his face in public again.

He'll shirk back into his hole for two years and then pop back out as the leader of the new right-wing insurgent political party "Rejuvenate Britain" or something.

I read some speculation today that British election law might be interpreted to mean that if Jon Harvey wins the election as Count Binface, then he would not only be permitted to wear the Binface costume and persona while sitting in the house but he would be required to. Since it's Count Binface that the people chose and gave the mandate to, not some regular old human schlub named Jon Harvey.

Presumably there'd be nothing wrong with him taking it off when not on official business and having a secret identity that way, but for votes and whatnot he'd have to don the cape and bin.

Is there a nationality requirement for the position?

Count binface is not British, he is a space alien.

Why can't a space alien be British?

I see someone has been watching Doctor Who.

[–] MagnificentSteiner@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago

Gilbert agrees!

The show for those who are curious.

Hmmm… I’ll have to check in on binface lore.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 1 points 1 week ago

That is incorrect. It is the person’s legal identity which counts. So at the result declaration, he is styled “Jonathan David Harvey, commonly known as Count Binface”

If Hartlepool is anything to go by, he can just take it off. I think he'd wear it anyways, if not always then at least occassionally
