It's about control. They want one man, one woman, no experience, having kids. That way the parents will do a terrible job raising their children, and will spend all their time working instead of living, sustaining the cycle of abuse. It also fits with the christian heirarchy (patriarchy) of "woman obey man, man obey god."

It's a death cult. Too many people still don't seem to realize how bad it is.
