“Of course”? Shame.

I didn’t expect him to win. But the political drama that is behind this needs urgent attention. Why did no one else bother to stand? Why did he get even 2 votes if he wasn’t a serious candidate?

But the political drama that is behind this needs urgent attention.

......... It has. It was being investigated before the election, and is being investigated again.

But more people now know about it, because a man with a bin for a face ran.

Why did no one else bother to stand?

Because this election was a stunt. So no major party joined in to give it credibility.

Farage resigned from his seat after the investigation started. And made claims that this election was going to make him "innocent in the eyes of his constituency" "people versus establishment" or some nonsense like that.

And now, a man with a bin for a face has stolen Farage's spotlight.

Why did he get even 2 votes if he wasn’t a serious candidate?

He's a man with a bin for a face. There were no serious candidates at least from a major party (I've not gone through all 34 candidates (a record by the way))
