Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

yeah, i'm sorry but no. She didn't take her meds and I question what other things she didn't do while trying to get treatment. she tried to "kill herself" by jumping out of a second story window...that's not going to do shit other then apparently paralyze her from the waist down. "how the mental health system treats women" it looks like said system WAS trying to treat her but she refused to do her part.
It'd be like wrestling fans gathering to support Chris Benoit for what he did. I'm sorry but no.
You got so many facts wrong it's sad.
The doctors swapped and stopped her meds, she did everything a person in a manic episode could have done to get the help she desperately needed, and multiple people failed her and those children.
You did uncover an important point. One I discuss with doctors commonly. If their treatment plan is something I can't practically do, then it isn't a good plan. For example, I have significant adhd. If the treatment plan calls for a midday pill, that just isn't going to happen consistently. My adhd ensures that. Most of the time they have no other options. The medical system assumes everyone is sane and nuerotypical in the treatments I designs. So now imagine someone with pill anxiety.
So just because she didn't do what the doctor's said, doesn't mean their plan was realistic and transfer all the guilt to her.
Nobody can make you better for you, you have to play a part in your own health care. Not being able to take pills on a schedule is something for children. You're an adult. From every doctor in the world, to every problem patient, just take the freaking medicine that we prescribed as we prescribed it.
it might seem callous, but you know what else is callous? the fucking disease that your desperately seeking treatment for. The one you tasked us with fighting, and now you make excuses and argue against how we're fighting it? OK. sure. sounds like you'd rather live with impairment than take the fucking pill, that's all I hear.
I am with the other ADHD person. This literally is something I cannot do.
Shit, you're gonna have a rough life then, mate. We all gotta take pills at some point. Either figure it out or... well, die an early and easily avoidable death, I guess. 🤷♂️
Set an alarm or calendar reminder on your phone
And? The alarm goes off. You are in the middle of another activity...
Shit happens, but it'll cover 99% of the time. Unless you think whatever mundane thing you're in the middle of is more important than your health and you swipe away.
..or you have ADHD and you don't take the pill instead? its not that complicated.. its a brain thing. It affects your brain.

I'll take care of that in a couple of minutes...
Six hours later....
Shit.
F'real tho what does help (for me) is daily pill organizers and keeping routine. Granted sometimes routine gets broke...I'm glad I'm not on any life-or-death meds, for sure.
But I've got an AM/PM weekly pill organizer. I take a set of meds in the morning and then I take tylenol and another med pro re nata. The PM slots keep two doses of tyelnol and the other med, to make sure I don't accidentally overdose (did I take a tylenol earlier?). The organizer stays at my desk where I have breakfast everyday.
I take an oral GLP-1 which stays in my nightstand and I always bring a bottle of water with me to bed to make sure I have it as soon as I wak up in the morning (oral GLP-1's should be taken on an empty stomach, < 4oz water, and at least half an hour before food or any other med). I haven't missed a day yet (though I do have quite a collection of water bottles on my nightstand...).
I'm switching to a compounded semaglutide in a few weeks tho, and that's weekly and I hate needles...so we'll see how that pans out.
Spoken by someone who has no idea what I am talking about... but great job making my point.
