It seems awfully quiet in here and I just joined the community, so I’ll be the change I want to see in the world.

Title says it all, what’s your favorite mtb trail of all time? Could be something you ride in your hometown or something you’ve only ever ridden once.

Mine is Resurrection Pass trail on the Kenai peninsula in Alaska. Super beautiful area, and I’ve had a bunch of amazing days and overnights with friends there.

I haven't had a chance to ride there yet. It's on my list, though.

I was thinking of Anthony Lakes area, Umatilla Rim, and even the Echo West Vineyard. I don't think Echo would be on anyone's top 10 list of places to ride in Oregon, but when I'm there and it's just me and the prairie grass swaying in the wind it's really beautiful and peaceful.

Umatilla Rim is a sad story right now. Last December's wind storms brought down a ton of trees. The forest service got about half the trail cleared and rideable, then the summer wildfires hit and now parts of the trail are burning.

Cool, those are some riding zones I'll have to add to my bucket list.

It seems like the bucket keeps filling up. Lol.

Similar story from the Waldo Lake trail this year. It started the season with 400 logs across and the forest service went and knocked it down to 100 but it seems as if they quit at that point. On Trailforks a guy from the COTA saw crew wrote that he offered to volunteer on the opening and he was told he's not welcome to work and that the trail has now been closed. I feel that the volunteering isn't managed very well sometimes and I also don't see how the FS can keep the trails open without lots of capability from the volunteers. How can they afford to turn away trained volunteers?
