I believe that there’s a huge magnet of sorts in the core of earth that attracts a specific brand, BIC, to it.

The only two items that always go missing. Pens. Lighters.

Always BIC.

The model they used in that initial trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was a marketing stunt and they always planned to replace it.
