Maybe it's cause neoliberal capitalism isn't delivering anything meaningful except to the few as the way it delivers "freedom" creates an inherent tension between freedom of people and freedom to grow capital, and so many people are disaffected and angry at the system which has chosen capital allows bigotry to step in. Who woulda thunk?
