Can confirm, “smug expression” is exactly what I was going for. I drew all their eyes on a creative whim, not because I was trying to denote sex/gender. I just wanted all the stick figures to have unique faces, so I started getting creative with their eye shapes. The thought of sex/gender never even crossed my mind while I was drawing this ugly little masterpiece, so these stick figures are definitely all sexless/genderless creations.
