I had a lot of fun there for a few years but honestly I have become a much better Marxist since I left. There were lots of DSA types, electoralists and idealists. Big fights (aka struggle sessions) break out regularly and the struggles are never resolved because idealists can't be reasoned with.
There was also some ableism against autistic users in the moderation/admin clique. Certain users regularly heard things that I and other autistic people weren't saying.
I don't know how it is now but I mostly avoid hexbear these days.
