He sees the writing on the wall that young rightists are anti-Israel (for all the wrong reasons) and is positioning himself to be the next anti-establishment right-wing voice in a post Trump era. It's pure cynical politics.

But I guess still better than defending genocide.

    I look it as though Tucker is just the first rat off the ship trying reestablish himself as the "true republican". He helped make this monster and now he's doing this "the right have lost their way" bit after it all went tits up.
