Critics Consensus
Packing unforgettable scares into a sleek runtime while Austin Abrams' crack comedic timing provides crucial levity, Zach Cregger's Resident Evil is a propulsive tribute to the pleasure and terror of playing a truly spooky video game.
It's a fun movie. I actually found myself saying exactly what the protagonist was saying at certain points. He's so perfectly just 'Mr. Everyman' and in over his head that you can't help but laugh.
I think anyone that has played a RE game and spoken to their screen at certain moments will enjoy this movie. It's a GOOD video game movie.
Didn't like the ending.
