I'm pretty sure I have the self control needed to use the Death Note responsibly tbh

    I think the premise falls flat when you realize the "Death note" is real apart from the magical book.

    People kill other people all the time by writing things down. Tyrants, people working for health insurance companies, etc.

    Giving an intelligent, reasonable person with good intentions that power is an improvement on reality.
