Those hoses can't be bent because of the water flow.

I’ve seen a car being towed/dragged out of an alley it was double parked in, so the fire brigade could gain access. They did NOT care how damaged it was in the process.

    That seems like a legitimate reason to do so. There seemed to be absolutely no reason to do this in this specific situation though as it didn't accomplish anything and actually made the angle of the hose much worse than it would have been using literally any other solution.
