If you wanna get sucked into one of the best stories in gaming: Legacy of Kain.
Start with Blood Omen, then Soul Reaver 1&2 remastered, Blood Omen 2 maybe but it’s optional, then Defiance remastered.

    I have played them but it was ages ago when they were new. I'm not certain the gameplay will hold up for me, to be perfectly honest. I've had this problem trying to go back to other older games.

    Imma be frfr, it absolutely doesn’t. Worse yet, I managed to soft lock Defiance but in a way where the trigger and the consequences were several hours apart. Don’t wanna go back to that game again.
    The story does hold up, but man the gameplay is a drag sadly :(
