Naah. This is even the consensus among actual MLs in tankie communities. He has literally done anti-AES propaganda. He also made a video on how Maduro stole the Venezuelan elections and then never provided any evidence. He is also fairly very anti-china on various instances. He has also denied the Argentina's long-running genocide of Black Argentinians.

And transphobia of people like BE is not a made-up accusation. A lot of great scholars in their field suffer from it (e.g. Nirm Finkelstein, Paul Cockshott etc.). BE is not even in their League.

    BE is very supportive of trans people if he wasn't he wouldn't keep defending them in his videos.

    Maduro has turned out to be a massive hack most of the actual lefties have abandoned him. The abduction theater was obviously coordinated and now Venezuela is an American neocolony. There was so much cope of Delcy Rodriguez for a while but I guess most people gave up on that.

    If you're talking about him criticizing China and Russia for not blocking the UNSC resolution giving Palestine to Gaza, yeah he was right about that.

    Norman is not an exceptionally great figure on Palestine. A Liberal Zionist for most of his life and still pretty soft on rhetoric, frequently calling october 7 "atrocities". A Liberal Zionist at best if you compare him to the rhetoric of actual Palestinians which will just voice full throated support for the heroic Al Aqsa Flood operation. BadEmpada is much better than Norman. I'd wager their influence is about equal.

    Which is a fake reactionary topic as he explained quite well in his video about it. I recommend watching it if you actually believe it.

    This is next level brain-rot. BE will never achieve a 100th of Finkelstein's research on Israel's zionist industry. Finkelstein at least doesn't condemn Hamas like other liberals.

    Finkelstein opposed BDS for a very long time and has had many other major flaws. His arguments are generally very weak And he doesn't push the boundary on anything very much.

    The only thing he's got going for him, opposed to all the Palestinians and brown people you never heard about, is that he's a white Jewish guy. So when he says the thing they have been saying for ten years, ten years later, he suddenly sounds very smart and intellectual.

    Listening to Finkelstein repeatedly saying "the atrocities of October 7" over and over again makes me cringe.

    That's not to say that Finkelstein is bad as a whole, I think he's a net positive for the Palestinian cause, but he certainly isn't this epic frontrunner-based guy you think he is.

    Unfortunately, no it's not been given up on yet. Even over the last few days, there have been struggles about it on some of the other ML instances. Apparently hexbear even has a contingent that enforces a "Delcy is the Second Coming of Lenin" line and labels you an ultra for getting upset about what happened to Venezuela. It's wild. I hate to say anything bad about those instances where libs can see, because hexbear and grad are mostly excellent despite all the dipshit lemmitor teeth-gnashing about them. But they do sometimes get infested with terrible party lines and fall into the trap of defending bad analysis, though that's hardly exclusive to them, as your own comments here prove.

    Lol, no. Finkelstein is a world renowned published academic who has been vocal about Palestine for decades. BEmpanada is a post-breadtube left-leaning drama youtuber. They are both problematic in a few ways and have some terrible, even reactionary takes in addition to their good work, but a drama youtuber doesn't even come close to the kind of influence Finklestein has.

    Comrade, first of all you really need to get over your parasocial attachment to that guy, he's not worth defending; what Saymaz is trying to tell you about him is correct. Secondly, I would encourage you to learn more about how US hegemony works and reassess how material your analysis of the situation really is, especially when you start repeating fascist-created ZOG positions.

    I'm not personally attached to the guy at all. People seem to be obsessed with smearing him though.

    Secondly, I would encourage you to learn more about how US hegemony works and reassess how material your analysis of the situation really is, especially when you start repeating fascist-created ZOG positions.

    And this is what I mean. You say Israel has significant control over the USA and people go into "ZOG hurr antisemtism" mode because apparently Larry Ellison, Miriam Adelson and AIPAC are fictional characters from a comic book.

    Because the Iran war is definitely working out incredibly well for the USA.

    Maybe rather than doubling down on it, you should consider why it might be that fellow leftists always tell you you're repeating fash tropes every time you bring up a certain topic? Don't be the principal Skinner out of touch meme.

    Edit regarding your edit: Thank you for the link, I had no idea about any of that. Though I can't say I find it to be too surprising either. Very different situations obviously, but I can't help but get some occupied Korea + Moonies cult ties vibes when reading that.

    I've always figured Geneva is a radlib with good political instincts but way too influenced by particular streamers/content creators, BE in particular. A shame that Geneva blocked me for this very same Bad Empanada struggle session they always have.
