Or something that goes a bit deeper onto each instance and explains them better? I have a mutual on mastodon that I recommended Lemmy to, and tried to link join-lemmy.org/instances, but it doesn't really do much to warn about hexbear/lemmygrad/.ml/etc. Those instances are defederated from a LOT of lemmy and i don't want my moot to sign up there and not even know that they're not really experiencing the Lemmy experience that I'm recommending.

I don't wanna start a war in the comments about instance dramas, I just wanna find a better resource to recommend Lemmy as a 'reddit alternative' -w-

My mutual is very anti authoritarian, that's why they got a warning on Reddit. I imagine they aren't welcome on your instance 😂

FYI .ml is federated with almost every single instance. You're just making shit up to get mad about.

Like I said

Or something that goes a bit deeper onto each instance and explains them better?

The truth is that .ml doesn't screen for ideology past a basic formality. However, many .ml posters have indeed studied enough Marxist-Leninism to recognize that the word "authoritarian" was perverted by imperialists to mean "communist" and is more of an indication that someone using it is clueless than it is a useful adjective.

ngl it's always weird when certain very loud 'anti-authoritarians' have no problem with the system that unpersons you if you can't pay rent

It's implied by making the distinction in the first place.

Liberals in leftist spaces and nazis in liberal spaces act the same way. You think you can outsmart your own affectations by not 'saying the thing' explicitly.

And yet ml users simp for Russia, China, and NK. All three are authoritarian regimes, and nowhere near any sort of “communism”.

Right, like I said, using the word 'authoritarian' makes you look clueless. Case in point.

Also, 'regime' is an imperialist codeword for 'government we don't like' and has no actual meaning.
