I don't want to argue against what you are saying, it might very well be true, but my comment is about tech people being "paranoid" about tech due to experience. (At least in my country) people are familiar with a few very good quality traditional lock brands that are harder to pick, and that's all you need, criminals don't just go around kicking in doors and windows here. Threat model is the keyword I guess. But I'm not naive, the same will be true for consumer grade electronic locks at some point, the good quality, proven brands will be common knowledge sooner or later I guess and outweight the paranoia.
