I had a few myself as I was still playing Lego back then. What I liked most, after building the kit following the instructions, was to create my own mixing all the parts I had. I wonder how many hours I spend doing that :)

    Going off-script is absolutely the best part of Legos, Erector Sets, Lincoln Logs, and any and all other building toys. Kids learn to explore and imagine new things, not just to duplicate what someone else already imagined.

    I will die on this hill.

    Off script was the BEST! I would build the kit per the instructions, play with it for a bit, then the deconstruction would begin. First what can I build w/ just the kit, then the tub of bricks was put into play to build a monstrosity!
