I had almost all these sets as a kid!
I don't know, maybe it's just because I was born in one of the not so wealthy rural areas.
But the bigger Lego sets definitely were in the Mercedes-equivalent range of toys.
So you might have gotten one for Christmas, but you wouldn't have gotten much else that year...
