My theory is its a pheromone reaction. Trans women typically have higher levels of estrogen than cis women (at least if they're doing monotherapy). I've noticed that I tend to experience a sort of intoxication around women with high estrogen (for example around ovulation) and can actually tell if cis women are pregnant before they are showing because its so reliable. I know humans aren't supposed to be able to communicate by pheromones but I can't think of any other reasonable explanation. So yeah if someone walks in rocking 300,pg/ml, they'll have my undivided attention.

Relative hormone levels can play a role in people's attractiveness, smell, ect, but how those hormones affect behavior probably plays a larger role than any physical changes others can observe. A transfem seeking out sex because she's horny would have a bigger impact than her looking or smelling better.

Sapphic transfems being so lascivious likely has more to do with us finally feeling comfortable in our bodies and sexuality, combined with having to go through a second puberty. On top of that, all sapphics tend to be more lascivious than hets.

  • Yes, but all of it was true before and after egg cracking. I'm not sure it's true for everyone but if I can actually tell when my partner is ovulating without keeping track of it. My sense of smell isn't generally any better than anyone else's though. I guess it must be some sort of genetic throwback.
