Thing is, religion is perfect justification. The Jews are God's chosen people, obviously they should get the land their forefathers lived on. It literally comes from an authority higher than ANY human organization.

Of course, Muslims will say that their version of the same God has different opinions. And Christians will have a third opinion (or a ton of them really). But it doesn't matter. Only your version matters. And if God says it's OK to kill gentiles, infidels, pagans, whatever and take their land, who are WE to question his supreme authority anyway? Profane authority is illegitimate in the eyes of true believers.
