[–] flameleaf@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (2 children) Gameboy too. There are so many new old games on itch.io. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] brax@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago (1 child) Yeah, that that GBStudio thing really made gameboy dev super accessible. There's the NESmaker for NES stuff - it's not the best, but it's the easiest thing out there like it lol. I often scrape itch for new NES stuff. There's an SNES game jam going right now that I'm hoping will bring some fresh stuff to check out. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] SpookyBogMonster@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 days ago I have a Miyoo Mini Plus, and these homebrew/Game Jam Games are really perfect for it. I've been playing a pokemon Rom hack called Lazarus, and it feels like a fully featured, modern pokemon game, in a GBA style, without just aping Gen 3 assets. It's a delight to play! Same with Pico8 games. Getting pico8 to run natively on the Miyoo mini is pretty easy, and there are a ton of really cool, bite-sized little games available for free. A lot of them remind me of old flash games, in their simplicity. permalink fedilink source parent
