At least we have elections. Ukrainians don't. All opposition parties have been banned. All opposition media has been seized by the government. Men have to dress as old ladies in public so they don't get kidnapped and pressganged ICE style.

Victory or death.

And why?

I don't need a data center to see capitalist greed and Weatern imperialism.

The RAND Corporation wrote a whitepaper that basically translates to "how to destroy Russia and take all their shit".

The unfortunate Arctic thaw is opening up vast troves of natural resources and corporations and billionaires want them. This is why Trump has such a hardon for Canada and Greenland.

Do you ever wonder why all pipelines lead to Europe?

Why would Russia do that? /S

You'll get one comment out of me just so others see reasonable push back to your bad faith argument, afterwards I will no longer engage.

    1. All democratic countries I know, have provisions in their constitutions suspending democratic processes, centralizing power in the executive and conscripting their unfortunate male population in the event of an invasion of the country.

    2. It is a frankly ludicrous idea to suggest that this war is somehow ongoing because "we" want Russia's natural resources.

Russia started this. Russia can end it any day by stopping the bombardment and withdrawing their troops from within the borders of Ukraine, at least to the status quo before its 2022 invasion.

    1. Bullshit. You just made that up. The clause in the constitution was added by the Svoboda led coup government after a "extra constitutional transition of power". Everything is lies built on lies built on a U.S. bankrolled fascist coup. Fuck off and let people vote.

    2. The RAND Corporation wrote a whitepaper that basically translates to "how to fuck up Russia and take all their shit". This isn't any secret. The Arctic thaw is opening access to bast troves of previously untouched natural resources. The Northwest Passage is about to become a reality. This is why Trump wants Greenland and Denmark so desperately, and it seems to be working.

Denying the core principle of U.S. foreign policy for all of modern history isn't convincing anyone.

And don't get me started on Europe. "All pipelines lead to Rome" weird how that works.

Is there any way to help? I would not have anything against Russia, but while I've been alive, they have managed to invade multiple peaceful countries close to mine, so naturally everyone sees them as terrorists (a living definition to imperialism and fascism), to be terrorized

You remember the agreements that NATO wouldn't expand towards Russia's borders?

    You're being willfully dense.

It was a verbal agreement with that PizzaHut munching drunken imbecile, Gorbachev.

There were two referendums, the first one was to choose whether to stay in the Soviet Union. Almost every Republic, including Ukraine, chose to stay. One stupid stupid stupid little man chose to instead abolish the Soviet Union instead of respecting a decided democratic mandate.

    It was never about democracy.

Wait, you actually, unironically, without trolling, while being sober, in all seriousness, think democracies should hold elections while being invaded? Thank god my country has a law that makes that illegal (not Ukraine, don't know about Ukraine, but in any case that is extremely idiotic thing to do, so good on them for not doing it)

Apparently Ukraine also has in their constitution that elections cannot be held while an invasion is in progress. So even if one were inclined to think like the idiot above they're just following the rules that have already been established.

Zelensky has actually publicly said to Trump, that if the United States can guarantee 60 days of ceasefire (apparently that's how long it would take to hold an election) than they can have an election. Knowing, that of course that the United States can't guarantee anything when it comes to Russia, because Trump is Putins lil bitch.

It's also worth noting that historically, populations are hesitant to replace governments during a time of occupation even if the administration had been relatively unpopular prior to the invasion. Not that I think he was unpopular. It is generally understood that during a war the government don't have an awful lot to do with military decisions so changing the government is not productive.

The only reason Russia would agree to a ceasefire is if they thought the result would return a pro-russia politician, which is of course unlikely to happen.

We were paying for Russia's natural resources before they started the war. How is this situation any better for them or us?

The war started after we bankrolled the 2014 coup.

War only benefits a small handful of very powerful people, but Russia is sure doing better than America or Europe.

Ukrainians' grandchildren's grandchildren will still be paying off generational debt from predatory IMF and military loans. Blackrock has privatized all of Ukraine's public institutions. They're all neofeudal capitalist serfs now. They can't vote. Men can't even leave to escape this death cult. It's definitely worse for them.

Benefited only hand full of people? What about Ukrainians themselves who see European living standards right next to them yet were stuck in ruzi systems? Do they have no say in this?

    Ukraine is an independent country.
