    2019+7= 2026 next year it'll be my 8th year which is 2027, 2019+8= 2027.

    I quit when the pandemic started which it started in 2019, I quit in December of 2019.

    I suppose my wording puzzles people sometimes.

    I should've said next December will be my 8th year of not smoking cigarettes, for this December is my 7th year of not smoking smoking cigarettes. My wording confused you probably like it did a lot of other people. I suppose it inadvertently became a word problem.
