Funny, out of 1034, only 6 downvotes, 3 of them on my own comments.
Can't trust anyone these days
That's a good plan. I need tto start downvoting my comments.
My imprecise handcounting led me to count ~85 downvotes out of ~28.5K total.
I try to keep to the netiquette of only downvoting if it’s truly unconstructive, rather than a dislike button as much as I can.
I copied it, pasted into metapad, find and replace "M /n" so its one line per record, and then got linecout.
linecount/2 would have made a lot more sense.
I dont always make sense.
Seems to be dead
Lemmy hug of death.
A gentle caress really.
I'm the creator of Lemvotes, I decided to purchase a better hetzner server and had to move my stuff over. I apologize for the downtime.
Thank you!
Damn. I don't know much about it. It might be running on somebody's old Pentium in out in the shed.
I hope I didn't just cause it to be flooded. That sux.
Maybe someone that knows more about the site will pop up w/info.
If I just did a bad thing, I'll take this post down. Not sure what's up yet.
F’s in the chat
I just tried it and it worked:)
I very rarely vote in either direction and yet this thing is saying I have exclusively down voted everything I've ever just LOOKED at. Including this post.
You have to scroll down a bit
It shows me having given a ton of downvotes I didn't give, on comments I only read and didn't up or down-vote.
I realized that I was accidentally voting on posts while scrolling in Jerboa.
Wow. Hrmm...
Mine says the same
Only upvotes! I’m sure it has nothing to do with the instance I am on having downvotes disabled lol
We’re going to need a bigger Commodore 64.
True blue until I die Bay-bee
Even this very comment
Same as with reddit. I so rarely down vote I can't even tell you the last time I did because like many of you don't do I understand the difference between disagreeing and not on topic.
Interesting point. ... So, I mostly downvote when I want something to go away. There are various reasons and degrees, but that's "why". For me it means go away.
Aww, I want to see if my estimated ratio is correct. I think it is around 10:1 and am perfectly fine with any ratio tbh.
I think it broke
Weirdly, I know for a fact I've upvoted a number of posts today, but my search on this ONLY shows my downvotes?
I definitely down vote more than I upvote, though. It's habitual to think "that is fucked up and really shouldn't be here," but a lot less habitual to hit an up on every mildly neutral to positive comment that, tbh, deserves it. It's eye opening to have all my downvotes laid out in front of me. Though still weird that the ups I know for certain exist aren't showing.
It shows all downvotes first, then all upvotes.
Which is an odd choice but I'm glad it was a lot more scrolling to get to the bottom of my up votes then my down votes
Ok, I'm not sure what's up. The site is not new. (Well ... It's 2 months old.)
It's an important resource. They will fix it.
Fixed.
Thank you.
Many users have questions about the accuracy of the report.
Could you comment on that or point us to a tech doc?
....
Tech doc here ... https://blog.gregtech.eu/posts/lemvotes/
But the doc says they can't check a user's votes, the API doesn't exist.
Well, that 'check user' feature is the whole reason for my post here today, so it appears Lena got past that. Their github looks like they made a major commit 3 weeks ago.
I have added that feature but haven't written a post about it yet :P. I'll get around to it soon.
I've reviewed your project and carefully considered the implications. I feel that you have done a worthy thing.
Consider what has taken place here. Sure, I tracked down a stalker. That's the obvious use case.
But the entire point of my post and the bulk of the discussion was about reviewing YOUR OWN behavior. People see their record laid bare, and feel exposed at first.
Its good to realize that what you do on Lemmy is a matter of public record. Its good to realize that there could be consequences. You are not anonymous.
