Network error when loading a video (lemmy.ca)

Hello all,

For about 2-3 weeks now, the NewPipe Android app has been crashing when trying to load a video. I've tried clearing cache, even removing and re-installing the app and it still doesn't work.

I'm using v0.27.0

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open the app
  • Tap on a video link
  • Video opens
  • Tap PLAY icon to play video
  • Loading circle appears
  • Stops with an error pop up and a new notification
  • Notification message says "Newpipe encountered an error, press to report." and "Network error".

Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Were you able to fix it?
