I've seen this posted a few places and there's amazing number of people who aren't able to pick up on it. For the first frame no it's not really MSG people. It's a British person selling opium to Chinese kids. They're tricking them. They're British it's what they do. For the second frame I'm deeply concerned about how many people aren't able to read the facial expression and body language of the two native women. Somehow some of y'all looked at them and thought yeah they seem happy despite the frowning faces and sad looks on their face. It's implying the rape.

Drug pedaling Brits and rapacious conquistadors. That's the message of this comic. Media literacy not at a high it seems

It's because it's a fucking gross depiction. Everyone gets that.

It's also the weirdest mix of historical innaccuracy and self censorship.

Clearly not enough people get that.

Centurii-chan has really captured the market on gooners that celebrate these things. The artist does it all on commissions and the requests they recieve indicate their market is genuinely into that sort of thing.

Having this be a commissioned piece certainly explains the weird MSG line.

Most things I recall are often a lottery system of subscribers submitting requests. I was an old subscriber but I started seeing a bit of an unsettling pattern and they got increasingly porny.

I don't blame the artist one bit though. Get that money.

Sure let's read into it. The colonizer is also a women. So that is not accurate.

Narrator voice: the Spaniards did not, in fact, "love" brown women.

(It took about forty years after contact for the church to declare indigenous people as actually human with the 'Sublimis Deus' papal bull in 1537.)

I'm surprised it didn't take longer.

Well that was the church, not the conquistadors or the spanish crown and emperor. I believe the history went along the lines of some clergy felt the conquistadors were being a little too barbaric and unchristian, so they convinced the Spanish to debate it a few decades later and eventually convinced them to take a break for a few years.

If "loving women" means raping them and taking them as sex slaves then sure.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

it's a typo.

it says ,"I fucking love brown women". it was supported to say, "I love fucking brown women".

The french name for this is "café au lait" (for the french).
