I'm sure .ml will be extremely normal about this

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

I suspect they’d say it’s not a big deal, because they would argue North Korea is a mostly normal country, they have a right to “defend themselves” from western imperialism and so on…

I don’t know where to even begin with that. When perception of reality is that splintered, there’s not much common ground to go on.

"Something something all of these soldiers are volunteers who are paid handsomely and are merely trying to liberate Ukraine from itself."

I wouldn't know, I blocked that entire circle jerk of a shithole domain.

Quite happier now not seeing lemmy.ml or anyone else in it.

Russian / North Korea / China, all the "communist" countries

Amazing. 50,000 brave volunteers ...

Europe union should send its army or volunteer European to offset. We know that some european country see Ukraine as a proxy to weaken imperialist Russia.

Pornhub, prepare your servers...

For context ... North Korean soldiers become porn addicts since getting internet access for the first time.

Fun to catch little glimpses of how the very culture I inhabit is several potentially life-ruining infohazards in a trench coat.

Well if anyone would know.....

North Korea (or China) could probably just take Russia in it's weakend state. However, I believe China will do it financially, not by sending soldiers.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

North Korea wouldn't be able to move its forces into Russia. They do technically share a short land border that has a rail connection that would be pretty trivial for Russia to defend. It would be like trying to invade the US by landing in Alaska. And Russia could almost certinly eliminte DPRK's forces quickly. And even if they made it to Moscow, Russia is likely to use nukes if they feel they're under true threat of being overthrown. While many nukes would fail, many probably would not fail.

Also, China would come down hard on North Korea's stupidity.

[–] affenlehrer@feddit.org 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

True. My thought was more like then sending a shitton of troops for "support" that then decide differently. However, that would probably also trigger like a nuclear response.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Probably. Also, they're sending troops but I don't think equipment, so you'd have unarmed soldiers - or maybe with guns - but no training to assault mechanized forces. heh
