Maybe see how willing his own people in the military/SCOTUS/congress are to coup over treason.

But I imagine that it would quickly turn into requirement exempting any sale to immediate declaration of Taiwan as not part of China (and other non-starters). Which would then be fuel for right-wing media and politicians to hoist Trump higher for being a "deal maker" and the "un-willing to play ball" CeeCeePee if they declined.
