Nearly 12 hours later, Steverson was identified as the passenger of a car during a traffic stop in Anderson, South Carolina. Anderson County Sheriff's Office officers discovered Steverson had what they believed was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, but was later declared deceased.
