    The plague never actually disappeared. People get it every year, about 1-2,000 internationally. It’s treatable now.

    yeah I was going to say people in India get it all the time. Hell I remember the Seinfeld episode where a friend of Elaine and Jerry decided to have their wedding in India and the parents of the groom, who were both Indian, tried to talk them out of going saying stuff like "you know they still have the black plague in India?"
