You cannot ... make deals with the Russians about some future economic projects and [at the same time] say that we’re in some kind of ... diplomatic dead end ... We’re not at a diplomatic dead end. Cut off [the Russian] economy entirely ... Stop feeding them with your sales. Just impose sanctions on their weapons.

The solution to the problem has been straightforward since 2022.

To some extent EU's and NATO's hesitation to commit themselves fully, unambiguously, was understandable. But that extent has long since ended.

Almost, destroying Russia seems a more likely outcome than just helping Ukraine get its independence & security. How did we get here? Oh yeah: hesitation. And the wrong person in power of "oUr gReAtEsT aLlY".

I wouldn't hold my breath for Krasnov's party to put any pressure on Putin.
Hopefully things are better after the US midterms...

In February 2025, The Hill reported on three cases where claims were made by ex-KGB officials that Trump had been cultivated, recruited (with the codename "Krasnov"[a]) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Links_between_Trump_associates_and_Russian_officials

(Note: I don't know whether this is true, I just think it's funny. Also, he keeps acting like a Russian asset whether he is one or just that corrupt.)

Ah, I get it now. I was thinking too hard which Russian politician is called Krasnov...

The question isn't whether it's true. There's objectively something to it, there's evidence. The Q is to what extent it is true - but hey, we also deserve our daily bake.
