.email TLD is around $25/year, which seems too expensive when .com is less than a half, but it would make it easier to explain why there is no website behind my domain (as I just want something for email).

But there's also more expensive options, so I am curious what you're paying.

I've never had anyone say anything about the domain not having a website, so go for anything. But I pay around the same as a coffee per year per domain via cloudflare.

Porkbun 10$ for a year iirc for my .com

I moved there from Namecheap who wanted almost $17 for my domain, and didn't provide API services

Just be aware that porkbun is one of the ones that has started identity verification. It started with some smaller regions, but they have moved to doing it on most of their regions from what I saw.

I got a ".uk" from cloudflare for like 5 bucks (USD) a year, same price on renewals.

I don't live in the UK...

Gandi for work and personal stuff, and porkbun for a volunteer side gig. Prefer gandi.

Regery. I think I paid 3 or 4 euros for my .ru domain (it was for a joke)

I bought my first year from namecheap for $6 but now it's a $70 renewal, I'm looking to transfer but prices elsewhere aren't much better.

This is for a .wtf domain. I could buy a cheaper one, but I like .wtf

I just renewed on Namecheap for a .com domain and e-mail for 1 mailbox.

$67.12 for 2 years. Honestly just contact their customer service and discuss it with them. I did that last year and they dropped the cost down unaskedf for.

  • Whatever domain shows up as cheapest register on tld-list if it’s a short time use domain, cheapest renewal if it’s a domain I’m planning to keep long term.

Also a tip for people with university e-mail; you can apply to Github Education pack to get some free domain registrations alongside other cool offers.

Im cheap and wasnt looking to build a brand so i found a $1-$2 per year domain name and figure I’ll let it expire. You could also find a free hosting site if you need/want a simple landing page.
