Why does a coffee machine need access to the internet?

Even spying on you, it doesn't need that much data. That sounds like a failed something that keeps retrying without a proper back off.

Computers and phones need internet, maybe security camera's.
I have no sympathy for the many victims of "my toothbrush is spying on me!" and other stories.

Those are rookie numbers.
