It's actually "Whiskey in Rye"

The Levee was a bar in a city that went dry. Rye, a city, wasn't dry.

It's one of the interpretations. No one knows what the song is about because the lyrics suck.

    It’s “and”

My dumbass was thinking of the Nujabes song with Cise Starr, and was confused about the lyrics. Never heard this bar until that song anyway.

When I saw Black Widow in the theater, in the beginning scenes with Natasha as a kid, Natasha and her fake family are in the car singing "this will be the day that I die", I was convinced one of the characters in the car would die that day

Yes but it's made from the grain rye, not from corn or barely mash so people usually refer to it as rye or rye whiskey. Just saying whiskey typically implies barley to most people. Saying bourbon means it's from the US and almost always corn.
I really like rye. It's generally less sweet than bourbon but still delivers the oak barrel complexities of bourbon or scotch.

All the americans are a blend of grains. Im sure some exceptions exist, but Bourbon refers to specific amount of the grain being corn. (I wanna say 51 percent or more, but its been a minute since my liquor store training) Rye, well, yea more grain rye.

Nothing wrong with being a rye fan, im just not.
