Zuckerberg is a fascist. permalink fedilink source hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (2 children) Because you need to reach people and that's where people are. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] artyom@piefed.social 10 points 1 week ago Doesn't matter if they're there if you can't reach them. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Quexotic@infosec.pub 3 points 1 week ago So, it's one thing to use the platform to reach the people, but it's another thing entirely to rely on the platform as sole means of communication. I don't know which they were doing, but I've seen a number of groups fully relying on things like Facebook and Meta products in general, and that's just not sustainable. Like, maybe if you have a link there to your actual, page or whatever it is, that's fine, but to rely on it entirely is not wise and not sustainable. That isn't to say that there's a ready alternative, but I think if groups didn't rely on it so completely there probably would be by now. I do take your meaning though and it is entirely valid. permalink fedilink source parent [–] TachyonTele_Esq@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 child) There is a small poetry in using their system against them permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] Manjushri@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago Poetry? My brother tried to make that argument just the other day. Meta's algorithms decide who sees what you post and what you see in your feed. The only reason anyone can organize on Meta at all is because it benefits Meta to let them do so. You can't fight a fascist system from within. Trying to do so just helps the fascists. It just makes it that much easier for fascists to track the resistance and to interfere with it. permalink fedilink source parent
