yooooo i'm starting to think these aren't the usual nothingburger protests this time

it might not be the Red Wave the country needs but it seems like something big is happening and real shit is about to happen

iirc france & italy are both deploying the military now; this seems pretty serious actually

I heard that only about a third of French people support the protesters. Another third don't care and another third are against the protestors. Le Pen and the far right could come out of this on top, especially with the anti-protestor propaganda narratives the right is spreading to delegitimize and demonize the movement.

This has started to make me cautiously optimistic as well recently. Even if the protests themselves might not achieve much, they can make the people learn and get further disillusioned.

Basically, a sort of 1905 leading to 1917 afterwards.

Also, the fact that so many people aren't happy of the imperial core is positive as well. Hopefully soon more Europeans will realize that the EU is their number one enemy!

Yeah, looks like this time it's a qualitatively different. But I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.

At the very least, I think this is a learning experience. Though it has made me think about the concept of revolution in the imperial core. Specially, I'm wondering at what step will other capitlist powers (like the US) will militarily interfere with an uprising.

I don't think this will lead to a revolution (though, inshahallah I have egg on my face) but in the case of an actual revolution, one spawned from the experience gained from this protest, I do wonder when the other imperialist powers would get involved.

Honestly, if this does lead to more, it would be at a very tactically adept time. The primary enforcer of imperialist hegemony, the US, is stuck in West Asia against Iran. Now would be an optimal opportunity to escape the grip of the US led order.

Unfortunately, I don't think the protests are going to result in that due to a lack of direction pushing for that, but it's an interesting thought expirement for recognizing opportunities in the future.

Agreed on all points. These are just the initial stirrings, and people are still largely trying to effect change within the system. The real turning point is going to be when people start seeing the system itself as the problem. How state violence will play into it is also hard to guess at this stage.

you really think so? i mean, i was cringing recently because it annoys me how westoid tend to get happy on french people protesting as some kind of fetish for some supposed left when they're against basically the same on any other country or they dont give a fuck. what's different this time than all the other nothingness from french protests.

well just the fact they're mobilizing armed forces to respond makes it seem like the ruling class are far more concerned than usual

plus since the far right will ofc take advantage of all this the polarization of the fascist take over will pave the way for much bigger opposition once fascists start doing what fascists do best: rape, torture, and murder people on an industrial scale

like if the left can rise to the challenge we may see actual civil wars in france, italy, etc. in the near future at this rate
