Ornamental peppers are ridiculously hot, like much much hotter than even reapers.

Might be cabale of causing chemical burns if you eat enough of them. Idk.

I had an ornamental pepper plant at a prior house and tried making salsa by roasting a couple of them. It was actually surprisingly good - the peppers had a great flavor. They were very small, and I did deseed them before roasting, so overall the salsa was hot but not unacceptably so.

I had one that I bought not realising it was ornamental. Some were mild, some were insane and the hottest thing I've ever experienced. All were pretty bitter. I think they were 'ornamental" because there inconsistent. Vivid purple though so actually pretty until the birds ate them all.

This is a Peppy Le Pom variety.

    The description says:

These develop into tiny little pomegranate fruits, which, while technically edible, have only a few small, sour seeds inside, so they're really best appreciated on the plant.

I tried one pip last year and boy was it sour. I just assumed they were basically inedible based on that. I just left the fruit on the plant this year, but they’re really old now and some had spit open so I decided to check a pip again. It was tasty enough I grabbed all 3-4 fruits that had split.
