Mildly off topic, but is there a federated marketplace platform? If not, seems like it'd be a good addition to the fediverse. We need all our platforms to be enshitification resistant.

Not to my knowledge, but nextdoor is pretty clutch for getting secondhand goods and not supporting Meta. Scammers are far fewer, if not, nonexistent because you need to provide an address and verify it with a post card that they send you in the mail. At least that's how it was when I signed up. Not sure if it changed. The only issue is you have to see all the posts from boomers whining about kids on their lawns or whatever.

Can't even find a good glory hole on marketplace!

I have been using FB and IG for more than 15 years, mainly as a promotion channel for my books and my art - with modest impact on my success. The quality of the content has been going down steadily. I started exploring the dark corners of Facebook and was shocked by the right wing, fascist posts and Russian propaganda. Last October, I pulled the plug, I left Facebook, I left Instagram, and I’m just in the process of leaving WhatsApp. Liberating!

'So where fans can find you now?' He asked, so she didn't hesitate to share links to her books and arts.

Facebook is the place you go to plan building a road with your neighbours and to adopt puppies. Other than that it's all just AI slop
