  • Weird string that disappears from the ceiling
  • Strange keyhole on door
  • Who has tape like that?

AI slop

[–] TRock@feddit.dk 55 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not disagreeing, but Keyhole is normal at least in Denmark.

[–] neons@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 23 hours ago

But langauge isn't :P

[–] Vinstaal0@feddit.nl 34 points 2 days ago

It is AI slop, but that tape is just painters tape

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 2 days ago

The string is how the roommate tried to kill themselves and it just tore apart

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago

Also who is going to use a piece of paper that size? The angle on the door and door size also looks odd.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The main tell for me were the letters. Too much "white scratching", as if the person was using a drybrush to write that

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

Plus it too evenly fits the page. There are really only a couple of places the letters are a little closer that work toward making this believable.

But yeah, up close the letterforms are clearly Generative slop.

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

It did make me laugh though

[–] Honytawk@feddit.nl -2 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Are you guys really so buried in your hatred of AI that you see it everywhere?

None of the things you mentioned are proof of AI.

  • String on the ceiling seems to be a pull cord for the lamp, it doesn't disappear, it just stops.
  • Keyhole is used in plenty of doors. I have the same at my house.
  • Are you really asking who has white transparant tape?
[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 30 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Look for basic errors. All of the R's seem to have similar issues but aren't quite the same. An example:

This same problem happens across more of the text.

The pull cord for a lamp should end at a lamp, not a circle on the ceiling. While it could be replicated with a regular camera, the string shouldn't blend into the rest of the picture.

And yeah, AI slop sucks ass.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 21 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

This is very clearly AI generated or modified. Everything about this image is messy, illogical, and crooked. By now everybody should be able to identify this stuff, its critically important to be able to do so for media literacy, especially because of its use in political manipulation campaigns. There are like 5-10 AI posts with lots of votes like this on lemmy per day, so you should have enough training material.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 5 points 2 days ago

You are upset that people are alerting you to it being AI?
It's ok to miss it, there are other people who maybe didn't and share how they spotted it. I don't get doubling down to demand that reality change cause you perceived it as some crusade.

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ai slop, Ai slop. Give me a community that fucking bans unlabeled ai slop, for fuck's sake.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It's ironic that Divide by Zero, a sizeable pro-AI instance, actually has rules requiring tagging AI content posted to communities not explicitly dedicated to AI content and the instances that are largely anti-AI do not.

Shane, stop posting fake notes on lemmy

[–] lime@feddit.nu 30 points 2 days ago (3 children)

what is that paper size why would anyone have that

[–] asbestos@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

So the door is like 16” wide?

[–] lath@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (3 children)

There's rolls of paper that allow one to cut the size they need. It's an ingenious invention, I know.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They just have like, adjustable trees? Sick.

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 25 points 2 days ago

Because paper is just thinly sliced tree, like prosciutto

[–] lath@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Yup, grow 'em by the crankshaft.

[–] lime@feddit.nu 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

i think the question stands, why would someone have that at home?

also, this paper looks too flat and thick to have come off of a roll

[–] lath@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why wouldn't one have a giant roll of paper at home? It's a basic necessity.

[–] lime@feddit.nu 2 points 2 days ago

i have a log and a planer for when i want to write

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's a piece of poster board which is pretty much like cardstock. You can usually find some at the stationary section in a lot of stores in the US.

[–] lime@feddit.nu 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

looking at it again on a big screen i'm 100% sure it's an ai image. the word "really" is a dead giveaway, even ignoring things like the disappearing ceiling lamp or the fact that the bed seems to be backwards

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Good points. It's too bad someone ruined a pretty funny joke with AI slop.

....Or is it perhaps a sign the robots are stealing our boyfriends?!?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

They have a large roll of paper, which they cut cleanly with a paper cutting guillotine, just so they can leave awkwardly large notes laying around the house.

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's about Ledger sized paper. I have it because I'm a fancy removed with a fancy printer.

[–] remon@ani.social 1 points 2 days ago

DIN standards, please.

"Dear roommate"

Funny, tho.

[–] RandomTester@lemmybefree.net 3 points 2 days ago
